A few minutes after MISTER MISTER had finished 3rd in the Tetrarch Stakes, L. on the Curragh in Ireland there was the first main trail for the German Derby in Munich - the Bavarian Classic, Gr.3 and FANTASTIC MOON (Sea the Moon-FRANGIPANI) bred by GRAF UND GRÄFIN STAUFFENBERG started into the 2023 season very well with a 3rd place as well. Raised and prepped at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN, he was sold by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK at the BBAG Yearling Sales to Liberty Racing. Trained by Sarah Steinberg and ridden by Rene Piechulek FANTASTIC MOON tried hard on the very heavy ground, but had no chance against the mudlovers over 2.000m on that ground. He is entered in the French and German Derby, but is most likely heading to the German Derby, G.1 via the main trail - the Union-Rennen, Gr.2

HeartofAfrica191.jpgIn the next race started an other homebred by GRAF UND GRÄFIN STAUFFENBERG and the filly HESHIMA (Giuliani-HEART OF AFRICA) won her Maiden in convincing style by 3,5 length. She was sold as a foal at the BBAG Spring Sale along with her mother to Stall Hoheneichen for whom she is trained by Karoly Kerkes and was ridden by Gavin Ashton. HESHIMA is the 3rd runner and 3rd winner out of HEART OF AFRICA, herself a 2yo winner in England
