In 2005 H H the Aga Khan purchased FOUR SINS, bred by Graf und Grafin Stauffenberg at the Goffs Million Sale for €120.000. In 2008 after winning the Blandford Stakes, Gr.2, more than €200.000 and being in foal to Dansili, the Aga Khan made quite a profit, when FOUR SINS was sold at the Goffs Breeding Stock Sale for €620.000 to John McCormack and topped the sale by quite a margin. The agent acted for leading Japanese breeder the Yoshida family.
The Racing Post:
THE Group 2-winning racemare Four Sins dominated the first day of breeding stock at the Goffs November Sale when selling to John McCormack Bloodstock for €620,000.
The four-year-old daughter of Sinndar formed the centrepiece of the ever popular Aga Khan draft and, in addition to her fine race record, she boasted an interesting history.
She was bred in Germany before being sent to Goffs for the inaugural Million Sale in 2005 when she was purchased by the Aga Khan for €120,000, thus becoming the first yearling he had bought at public auction since Blushing Groom.
On the track Four Sins proved herself a high class runner for John Oxx by winning the Blandford and Blue Wind Stakes in addition to finishing a highly creditable fourth in the Epsom Oaks.
That record coupled with a Dansili covering made her a very attractive proposition and Lizzie Lyons, acting for McCormack, outlasted David Nagle.
“She has been bought on behalf of a long standing client of John McCormack´s and it is quite likely that she will be exported to go to Japan,†said Lyons.
This prize was more than the double of last years top prize and more than double of the second highest prize this year. It made her breeders very proud as well, to see that there is such a demand on their quality product.
