14/02/26 Fang Mich foaled her 1st foal – a colt by Sea the Stars

https://www.stauffenberg.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/FangMich26.mov

On Valentine’s Day 2026, we welcomed an extraordinary new arrival at our farm at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN: a colt by the outstanding racehorse and sire SEA THE STARS out of our mare FANG MICH. While every new foal is special, this one stands out as the first fourth-generation homebred for GRAF UND GRÄFIN STAUFFENBERG.

This colt’s lineage traces back to their foundation mare, FRAULEIN TOBIN, the fifth dam of this foal. FRAULEIN TOBIN already the dam of 2yo Gr.3 winner GERMANE by DISTANT RELATIVE, gave Marion and Philipp beside other winners two daughters - FOUR ROSES by DARSHAAN and FIREDANCE by LOMITAS. Both produced Groupwinners themselves, the former Gr.2 winner FOUR SINS by SINNDAR and the latter Gr.3 winner FEARLESS HUNTER by ALHAARTH. However, FIREDANCE is currently the one with more significance, as she produced FRANGIPANI by JUKEBOX JURY—the dam of Gr.1 winner FANTASTIC MOON by SEA THE MOON. FANG MICH, the dam of this new foal, is a sister to FANTASTIC MOON, whoose sire is by SEA THE STARS. Thus, this new arrival is the latest chapter in a lineage filled with top class racehorses and long lasting memories.

What makes this even more special is the personal story behind it. Marion and Philipp first met through FRAULEIN TOBIN back in 1994. Now, 32 years later, this colt represents not only a breeding milestone but also a testament to their shared journey. With each generation, they celebrate not just the foals, but the love, dedication, and history that brought them here.

01/01/26 12yo Trais Fluors back on the scoreboard on New Year’s Day

Evergreen campaigner TRAIS FLUORS (by DANSILI) opened the new year in style when landing a Handicap on Newcastle’s all-weather track, sticking his neck out late to score by a head under Alex Jary for trainer Linda Perratt.

The victory was a reminder that, even at this stage of his career, TRAIS FLUORS still knows how to dig deep when it matters. Settling into a rhythm on the Tapeta, he found plenty once asked and outbattled his opponents in a tight finish.

Bred by Haras de Saint Pair, TRAIS FLUORS was reared as a yearling by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK at their farm at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN, where he was prepared for the sales ring before heading to Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. There, he was bought back—a moment that, in hindsight, reads like the quiet start of an extraordinary career arc.

What followed was the kind of résumé most horses never get close to: under André Fabre he became a Gr.3 winner (notably the Prix Paul de Moussac,Gr.3) and proved himself Gr. 1 class with multiple top-level placings, including efforts in races such as the Prix d’Ispahan, Gr.1 and Prix Jean Prat, Gr.1.

Time has inevitably shifted the context. TRAIS FLUORS is no longer campaigning in Group company; these days he is plying his trade in handicaps, asked different questions and facing a different kind of competition. Yet what has not changed is the attitude.

Notably, 2025 brought no wins, even though he remained active and competitive—finishing placed on occasions and often shaping as though a return to winning ways wasn’t far away.

If this Newcastle success proves anything, it’s that Trais Fluors may be operating at a different level now—but he has kept his fighting spirit, and he is still capable of finding that old will to win when the race gets serious.
